Photography in the Present
It can be intimidating when a lot of photography gear is being released.
We always want the latest and greatest and look.
However, we can always work with what we have.
I have lived by this motto for a few years now and that doesn’t include my gear only but as well my phone and laptop.
For this particular blog, I will focus on photography in the present.
Bringing Up the Past
As much as I like to reminisce about the good ole’ days when I was in Florida capturing foamy water shots, I really can’t do much about that here in Washington.
I live about two hours from the nearest ocean, so I have to create around my surroundings.
We just can’t think about the past a lot.
This is what keeps us from evolving into better artists.
Yes, it’s great to go back and critique on your work and see what you can work on, but leave it at that or go ahead and print the photo.
Living in the Present
Most of us get inspired easily by other artists and want to know what tools they use to create their craft.
We push aside our current tools so we can buy new ones and create the same image or painting.
To stay away from this, one tip is to go on 500px and search for the camera you currently have to see what photos pop up.
You wouldn’t believe the number of amazing photos I see from the Canon 6D Mark I.
Learn new skills to evolve and you’ll be happy that you didn’t drop another grand on gear.
A Better Future
What we do now, can affect how the future will look like.
This pertains to photography as well and how you want to become a better photographer.
Do some research and put that research into action.
Start a project or create videos.
In on of my previous blogs, I talked about how I wanted to show my face to the audience more and blog at least 3 times a week.
I believe in the more work you put in, the more success you can attain.
