Photography in Bad Weather
When it comes to photography, not everyone wants bad weather.
However, bad weather can play an important role in your photos.
If you live in a city or town that rains more than half the year, take advantage of it.
With these 5 tips, you’ll be wanting to get out and take photos.
Reflections
When it rains, it pours.
If that’s the case, then puddles must be around.
Take advantage of these puddles as they produce reflections.
There are reflections all over the place and some are overlooked.
Pro tip: Get low to get a great perspective of your subject.
Flip the photo vertical to give your audience a mind blow shot.
Bokeh
Bokeh is a must when it comes to bad weather.
Get close to your subject and manually adjust your focus.
This will create an awesome feel especially when rain droplets are on glass.
Pro Tip: Look around for lights that will give you bokeh when out of focus.
This can add more to your frame as shown below.
People
When out taking photos in the city, people are bound to be walking around.
Making people stand out with their umbrellas is always a great capture.
Or make your subject look like a mysterious figure.
This is always a fun one for me especially out doing street photography in Seattle.
Moody Photos
On a cloudy and rainy day, you’ll want to capture some moody photos.
This is the best time to experiment with this type of photography.
Add some contrast to make your subject pop from all the moodiness.

Fog
Not all bad weather has to do with rain.
Fog is probably the best time to get real creative.
Things tend to look different in the fog especially at night.
Next time your city gets foggy, go and explore.
Conclusion
Once you mastered photography in bad weather, you’ll have no excuse not to take photos.
