How It All Started

Everyone has a story of when and how they got into photography and how it all started.

It takes years to perfect a craft, however when it comes to photography, there is always something new to learn and that’s the beauty of art.

The first time I was fascinated about photography was way before Instagram was created and a bigger platform was taking over, Flickr.

In the beginning

Let’s take a trip back to memory lane.

The year was 2009 and I just graduated out of high school. At first, I did not know what University to go to or even if I wanted to go to school around Florida.

I knew I wanted to help people some way, some how.

Fast forward two years later, I discovered Flickr and let me tell you, I was so astonished by the amount of beautiful photos that were out there.

The one subject that caught my eyes was sunsets and sunrises.

Colors

The beautiful colors during dusk and dawn was something I wanted to capture and I did with my iPhone.

I noticed that the quality wasn’t the same as the photos on Flickr.

That’s when I started doing research on DSLR cameras.

My friend who had happened to work at Best Buy, talked me into buying a Nikon D90.

I immediately took the offer and bought it without any knowledge of how it works. I didn’t care, I just wanted to capture great sunrises and sunsets.

I’ll get into the things I wish I knew before starting photography in another blog.

Inspired

Of course, all the photos I captured were in auto.

I was at the same beach for a couple of days straight during the mornings.

I was on Flickr 24/7 for inspiration and hoping the next day that the clouds were going to be so vibrant.

Only one can get so lucky. I had one good sunrise and that was it.

The only things that bugged me were the buttons on the DSLR and I needed to learn how to use them.

Then ISO, aperture, and exposure came up. That’s when Youtube came in and the rest is history.

Photography Forever

I’m glad I’ve come so far with opportunities to showcase my work and excited to see what the future has in store for me.

Photography always changes and drastically.

You as a person will improve and it will take time.
