Instagram Reels: How-To Guide for Photographers
Reels having been making a huge impact on Instagram ever since they have been introduced.
You basically can use them the same way people been using TikTok.
They are 15 seconds long which can draw your audience in a little bit more.
There are different ways you can use the new Instagram reels feature and here is my how-to guide for photographers.
Behind The Scenes (BTS)
This is probably the easiest way to show your Instagram audience on how you capture the everyday life of a photographer.
People will get to know you more on a personal level and see the real you.
It’s also a great way to have your audience engage with the content.
You can show them how you capture photos and with what gear.
The possibilities are endless with Instagram reels.
Show Them Your Editing Process
One of my favorite things that I can do with the Instagram reel is showing off my editing process.
This will intrigue your audience and inspire them into creating their own editing style.
Due note that the Instagram reel can only be 15 seconds for now, so try making a time lapse of your editing process.

B-Roll
If you want to be extra fancy, I suggest making a b-roll sequence of your photography adventures with LUTS and video transitions.
Think of it as a mini vlog without any voice audio.
This can also get you more practice getting into videography and vlogging videos for YouTube.
I recommend using the Spark app or iMovie app to help you edit your videos together.

Promoting Your Other Social Medias
Another way to promote your prints and presets besides photos is video.
Promote your current sales, gift ideas to your audience or even your podcast.
It never hurts to promote your work, this is just another way to make extra income or grow a bigger audience.

Conclusion
Instagram reels will take over Instagram as everyone is getting into video.
Remember that Instagram reels can also show up on the explore page and with their own hashtag pages.
Have fun and experiment with this new feature Instagram released.
