5 Locations to See Cherry Blossoms in Seattle
Well, folks, it’s that time of year when the blossoms hit Seattle.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the fall colors, but it’s something about cherry blossoms in Seattle that make it special.
I dedicated this year to going out and capturing the cherry blossoms as I had no time to capture them last year.
I made a shortlist of locations in Seattle to go and take photos of these trees as the window of opportunity is so short.
Here are my 5 locations to capture cherry blossoms around Seattle, Washington.
International District, Downtown Seattle
First up is one of my favorite neighborhoods in downtown Seattle and that is the international district.
You definitely can capture the essence of the cherry blossoms in this area and they are all so beautiful in full bloom.
This specific area can also make you feel like you are in another part of the world as cherry blossoms take over.
Make sure to check out Little Saigon as the cherry blossoms will be straight in your face.
Green Lake Park, Seattle Washington
Just north outside of downtown Seattle is a little area called Green Lake which is a totally different vibe and in an amazing way.
If you make it to Green Lake Park, you are bound to find cherry blossom trees from right to left.
A very underrated area to take photos of but can have the potential for great photoshoots and I know I’ll be back next year to do some portraits in Green Lake Park.
Wallingford, Seattle Washington
Wallingford tends to be a bigger town of Seattle, Washington but if you are willing to drive around and explore, you will get rewarded with some amazing lineups with downtown Seattle and cherry blossoms.
Exploring new parts of Seattle is what motivates me to go out and take photos.
Any street that you go to in Wallingford, you will definitely find a cherry blossom when it’s peak time.
Just make sure to respect the neighbors and stay out of the streets when possible.
The University of Washington, The Quad
The Quad in the University of Washington needs no introduction.
A major part of the cherry blossom scene in Seattle, Washington.
The one thing that I can definitely tell you is to go early in the morning as there will be little to no people at times if you want some peace in capturing photos.
Plus you can capture some photos that some people don’t see every so often.
Pike Place Market
Last but not least is the Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle.
Now there are no cherry blossoms in the market, but just outside on Pike Street, you will see some cherry blossoms in full bloom at the right time of year.
It’s a great view and photo to line up with the famous Public Market Center sign.
If you want to get a little more creative, there will be some flowers in and around the Pike Place Market as well during the springtime.
